JB, the single gang boxes are located at entry doors where a doorbell would be installed. Wall mounted. With that said, I think the mini dome is the only good hikvision option to put in those areas. I live in Southern California so we don't get much rain, but there will be direct sun beating...
Perfect, I'm glad I asked because I can definitely wait a few months for the new cameras to be released. As for a camera that would fit over a single gang box near an entry door, would you suggest something like this? It looks like it's big enough to cover a single gang box. If not this, any...
Okay, thanks so much for the great information. So if I buy either of these I'll be able to use the LED on with motion option in the latest firmware?

JB1970, thanks so much for the info. I'm just a homeowner and it sounds like you're very knowledgeable with these Hikvision cameras. If I'm understanding you properly, it sounds like they got rid of the "LED on with Motion feature" with the newer cameras and only support the "blinking LED"...
Got it. Can I set it up for the light to come on with motion and not flash? I don't want it flashing, I just want it to come on for whatever duration I set it to when it's triggered with motion. Thanks in advance.
Well, that's a huge bummer. What does the "flashing alarm" do? Does it flash the LED? I like the setup I currently have where the LED turns on with motion and lights up the dark alley. I can't imagine why Hikvision would get rid of this feature as it startles people and scares them away...
Hey all,
Can someone tell me if the newest version of firmware for my camera includes the "LED on with motion" option? I had to roll back firmware last year to 5.5.114 because the newer version did not include this feature. I'm hoping the latest version of firmware for my camera will include...
All,
I have my LED light activated with motion in my dark alley and it works great, I'm surprised other camera manufacturers don't offer this. Question, I'm looking to add more of these cameras to my home based on the amazing image quality at night. While shopping, I was told to stay away...
Got it, I will stick with what I have. Thanks again.
There's not a possibility of setting up the LED to only turn on at night during an event like between 8pm and 6am is there? As it's configured right now, the light comes on with motion during daytime hours too.
I finally managed to downgrade to 5.5.114 and the LED linkage is back. You are seeing it with .160 correct? if yes, maybe I'll upgrade to .160 and call it day.
Now, I just need to figure out the best settings to trigger the LED to turn on when there's motion detected in the area box. Basic...
I will try that, I don't understand what the difference is between Basic Event > Motion Detection vs Smart Event > Intrustion detection.
If my cameras weren't recording 24-7 then I would see a difference because the Basic Motion Detection would activate recording...but, since it's always...
mtv,
I tried downgrading to a few firmware versions and this was the only one that worked. Thanks, I have the feature back now with 5.5.114. Now the question is how to configure it best to turn on the LED with motion. If this camera is recording constantly to the NVR, then what event type...
I was trying to respond to JB 1970's reply about being able to downgrade firmware via the regular Hikvision process of upgrading. It's not possible through the Hikvision interface. I tried and it fails.
Curious, why are you looking to upgrade your firmware? I'm assuming you don't care about...
