Hi,
You can download the Media Feature Pack for W10 here... Download Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 10 from Official Microsoft Download Center
To answer my own question and for the benefit of anyone else seeing this error, the issue was that I'd installed the Windows 11 Pro "N" version which doesn't include certain media codecs / dll files etc. You can fix this by installing the "Media Feature Pack" in the "Optional Features" section...
Hi Marco,
Ah yes sorry, I assumed you were in the UK. In that case it should just be a case of setting the Time Zone field to your location and then disabling DST. If you find it's +/- 1 hour you can adjust the Time Zone setting to get this correct. At least that way it will continue to sync...
Just an update... This seems to be dependent on firmware. If I tick the "Upload to FTP/Memory Card/NAS" checkbox in the Linkage settings on my 8MP Gen1 turrets running firmware (V5.6.6 build 210625) they DO NOT save an image when an event is triggered. My new 8MP Gen2 turret running firmware...
Hi Marco,
I personally set all my cameras and NVRs to use an NTP (Network Time Protocol) server.
You will also need to set the DST (Daylight Saving Time) setting to automatically advance the time in British Summer Time (BST).
Hope that helps.
Hi Dan,
Is there a bug in the Event Triggered Snapshot feature that you know of? I have set the Capture Number to 1 but the camera still takes 4 snapshots. See images below...
I had this same problem and found the same thing. If you just share a folder that's on a volume containing other data, the format will either fail or show "Normal" state for a few minutes before going back to "Uninitialized".
I use TrueNAS so the solution for me was to create a separate ZFS...
Just to answer my own question... the "Upload to FTP/Memory Card/NAS" option is for image storage only. If you have the "Enable event-triggered snapshot" setting ticked in Storage > Schedule Settings > Capture > Capture Parameters, this will upload those snapshots when the event is triggered...
I've done some more testing and it looks like the only time the camera saves any event data to the MicroSD card or NAS is when a recording is triggered. If continuous recording is configured, this prevents any event related recordings from being saved (or even storing the event metadata). This...
Just to add to this... If I select the 'Event Playback' tab on the left hand side of the 'Remote Playback' window in iVMS-4200 and search for Line Crossing events on the camera I know has these events in the selected timeframe, I get the error message "Playback failed. No record file found"...
Hi Dan,
I found an old 32GB MicroSD card, quite small but all I need for testing. Unfortunately I'm seeing exactly the same behaviour using the SD card as using the NAS storage. With continuous recording enabled in the camera + motion and / or line crossing detection, I see absolutely no...
Thanks for the info Dan. In that case I might try this with a MicroSD card just as a test. If that works, I'm tempted to report this to Hikvision as a bug. I can't see any technical reason why writing to a NAS should be any different than writing to the MicroSD card.
I'll update this thread...
