When I was checking the temps during the summer it wasn't much hotter than 40 , maybe 45 or so but never seen it up into the 50s or anything , and it was always within the manufactures operating temperature, I think each drive lasted around 4 months , I have 4 cameras running but have 3 on 24/7...

Nevrmind I think the HDD is goosed now lol. It was working fine until I ran the bad sector detections , I have tried to re initialise it etc but it's having none of it now so hey ho lol.

Thanks for that mate that is where the info is, im running a short test and it just keeps coming back saying reading operation failed. But everything is still working as normal via hikconnect and recordings of events etc.

No worries mate, I wish I never updated the NVR as it was better before, I used to check the temperature doing the summer when it was 30 outside and it was never at the maximum operating temp so that's why its weird how it fails when its been cold. Im going to order that fan and just do it...

Ah sorry mate I haven't seen it , ill take a look now, ive never noticed no fans in it tbh I just put the HDD in and put the lid on lol, I have my NVR in the boiler cupboard on the landing so it doesn't get ridiculously hot in there so its a bit strange , I know people with theirs in the loft...
