DS-2cd2387g2-lu on firmware V5.7.15 - is someone able to advise whether the light linkage on motion exists or has been removed?

It’s where it was previously in the alarm event linkage actions. It’s just been renamed to ‘Supplement Light’ There should be no issue downgrading if needed.

Hik vision cctv working on monitor but showing as offline in app?

There should be LEDs for Link and Activity on the router port.

DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL not detecting car at night?

Start by ticking the Human and Vehicle boxes; that’s what they are there for.

Hik-Connect Hikconnect ping notifications stopped working after App update?

Logging out, fully closing the app and logging back in again usually resolves this. I wouldn’t consider the updates to be new fangled; it’s good that the apps are continually developed to correct issues and add functionality.

POE Distance Setting (Long vs Short)?

They should just be left on short distance. I don’t know why anyone would think that stability would be improved using the other setting. If the cables are properly installed and connected there shouldn’t be any instability.

Hikvision camera no playback / not recording longer than 24hours?

Either the hard disk is faulty (you can run a test on it in the DVR menu or in the browser), or the recording has been set to overwrite after 1 day. In the browser if you go to Storage > Schedule Settings then click the 'Advanced' button, the pop up will show 'Expired Time' or similar as the...

Hik-Connect Hik-Connect can't play back but live view works fine?

It's not something I ever use but the holiday schedule only alters the recording schedule and doesn't alter anything to do with events. So if your events are on a schedule, they won't become 24/7 when holiday schedule is in use; the recording will change to 24/7 event recording if that's what...

I've not got around to it yet but at some point I'll give HA a try myself. I'm using Hubitat and have node-red and an mqtt broker running on a Pi 4 to bring in some other devices. A lot of Hubitat users have HA and have it bridged using Hubitat for Z Wave and Zigbee. Glad you've sorted it :-)

    Firmware Hikvision DS-7616NI-E2 firmware?

No data should be lost when updating the NVR. Most settings are stored on the camera. I'd just run the NVR upgrade and see how you get on. If you have a monitor directly connected to the NVR you can just right click select menu and click on cameras to see the IP addresses, and firmware versions.

    Firmware Hikvision DS-7616NI-E2 firmware?

As the newest version is also a 3.4.x release you should be fine upgrading directly to the latest. If the newer release was a 3.6.x the usual advice would be to install the latest .4, then a .5, the first .6 then the latest. Everything can stay connected: Download the update to your laptop...

It's possibly hardware as you say. In Hik-Connect > Me > Settings you can try toggling the 'Hardware Decoding Preferred' to the opposite of what it is currently set. That can sometimes resolve it. A H264 stream may also take less hardware resource to decode than H265, but that will have an...

    Hik-Connect Hik-Connect Update 23/08/24 (6.6.0.20240822.2) - Finally! - Sorting Supported

Second Bug - Groups Creating group and adding cameras from multiple sites works. However when you create additional groups it goes a bit screwy. I created a group called 'Family' and that worked fine. I then created a second group 'Temp' and added one camera, however it incorrectly also...

    Hik-Connect Hik-Connect Update 23/08/24 (6.6.0.20240822.2) - Finally! - Sorting Supported

OK - First bug After installing 'Switch to large card', 'Switch to small card' were working. An hour on the thumbnails are showing as small cards and no amount of changing the setting back and forth will restore them to large. No doubt as there are a few UI changes, there will be little...

Turret cameras black after cable damage?

Unusual. They won't be available with SADP as they are not IP cameras, they're HDTVi (analogue HD). The Baluns just convert to allow transmission of that video signal over CAT cable. There's not much to get wrong with these cameras so I can't think why they wouldn't be working other than a bad...

    Hik-Connect Hik-Connect Update 23/08/24 (6.6.0.20240822.2) - Finally! - Sorting Supported

Finally after years of people requesting it. The Hik-Connect update this morning allows you to change the order of sites on the Home Screen. There are also changes allowing grouping of devices and how the device thumbnails are displayed. The layout is a bit better allowing you to scroll the...

Hik-Connect Hik Connect - Blue timeline only

No not at all. For DIYers NVRs with IP cameras it can be a pain when switching but it's straightforward for a DVR. When choosing there are a few things to keep in mind: For detection to be filtered to Human/Vehicle, you'll need to use a model starting 'iDS' as those models support AcuSense...

Hik-Connect Hik Connect - Blue timeline only

I just read your other post. It's an old DVR that won't support the function. You would need to swap out that DVR for one of the newer models.

    Hik-Connect A few Questions

I think maybe you didn't first decompress/unzip the downloaded file. When unzipped it will be called 'digicap.dav' I noticed on the Hikvision site (UK) that your model isn't in the product pages anymore. Go to hikvision.com/en then click Support > Firmware. Type in 2347 in the search box and...
