Is my NVR really 4K capable?

Just to be clear, are you using a tested (and not over-long) premium high speed HDMI cable to connect your NVR directly to your 4K viewing device? Is your 4K viewing rig up to the task? Can it play 4K Youtube videos at full resolution? Are your CCTV ethernet cables Cat6 and capable of...

    Over-long Intrusion pre-record [DS-2CD2543G0-IS]

That's what I wanted to do but, for some reason, it wouldn't save. I will try again.

Hikvision Intercoms do not record on motion

My 8003 door station doesn't appear to offer me any option to record continuously. I checked in iVMS-4200 under both MacOs and Windows. Could that be because I'm not using an NVR?

    Over-long Intrusion pre-record [DS-2CD2543G0-IS]

I'm trying to figure out why my DS-2CD2543G0-IS records more Intrusion footage to my SD card than I specify. I set pre-record to 5secs with a post-record of 10secs but I get over two minutes of static pre-event footage on a calm, evenly lit, critter-free, motionless day. Can anyone tell me why...

    Darkfighter DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3

A further update: disabling the camera's Security->Enable Illegal Login Lock function seems to have stabilised the frame rate at 25fps. This doesn't sound logical but no other changes were made.

    Hikvison sub camera stream

Sadly, setting the sub stream to MJPEG makes my cameras lose connection to my 2nd gen video intercom [DS-KD8003-IME1]. It shows a black screen with the message: "Live view failed - encoding type not supported". It obviously uses the sub stream to display the video on the systems little indoor...

    Darkfighter DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3

Just to follow up on this, I was labouring under the misapprehension that I needed to enable 'Lite Storage' in order to record to the SD card and I was happy to find out yesterday that I don't. It's a separate feature which saves space on SD cards by only recording movement at full frame rate -...

    Darkfighter DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3

Funnily enough, I was talking to a senior techie at Hikvision UK yesterday about this camera and he asked me to upgrade it to v5.6.15. I pointed out that 5.6.15 doesn't claim to support the DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 but he told me to go ahead and do it anyway. Not that it fixed anything but it seems you...

Video Intercom panel distorts camera feed

My 2nd generation master Indoor Station [a 10in DS-KH8520-WTE1 hardwired to the DS-KD8003-IME1 Door Station] also displays the live feed from six other Hikvision cameras, all of which bar one display correctly. But the feed from my IPC-D640-Z shows the bottom few rows of pixels [approx 5% of the...

    Intrusion zone geometry

I'm disappointed to discover that my DS-2CD2543G0-IS [v5.6.3] throws off an error when I try to configure a concave quadrilateral as an intrusion detection zone (allowing me to avoid some heavy foliage) since it apparently can't cope with reflex angles. Since I can't configure multiple intrusion...

Hik-Connect Unable to get Push Notifications

I didn't use any of the earlier versions long enough to make a judgement. I think the main thing was fixing security holes.

Yes, Dan should look a lot older by now.

Hik-Connect Unable to get Push Notifications

You can't upgrade directly to 5.6.15. You'll need to upgrade to 5.6.11 first. That said, 5.6.15 does not officially support the DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 so you might want to go to 5.6.14 instead (from 5.6.11)

Wow! Great work and congratulations. I couldn't do that in a month of Sundays.

    Darkfighter DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3

End of the road for me, I fear. SADP can now see the camera via both the POE switch or the 12V PSU. But TFTP won't negotiate with it. I've tried fresh copies of the files in the TFTP folder and also renaming the folder. I've tried setting the server IP to the Hikvision recommended 192.0.0.128...

    Darkfighter DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3

At least I finally got the camera to show up in Windows SADP so I'm hoping for a home run soon. Parallels has a number of shared/unshared networking options and Windows SADP didn't respond to the default "Shared Network", nor to the main alternatives, "Bridged" and "Host-only" but when I...

    Darkfighter DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3

Thanks again. I tried both server IP options and got no response out of TFTP. I may be falling between two stools since the ReadMe and the PDF instructions conflict with each other. So far I have tried: 1. …naming the firmware file ""digicap.dav" [PDF] and "digcap.dav" [ReadMe] 2. …server IP...

    Darkfighter DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3

A new dawn and new hope. Many thanks @StewartM for your help, armed with which I am about to rejoin the fray. Just to be clear, whatever IP the server is given must also be given to the camera?

    Darkfighter DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3

OK - I had to drag the .dav file out of C/ in order to rename it. But nothing seems to be happening. I changed the computer and camera IPs to the recommended number (192.0.0.128) turned off wi-fi and told TFTP to go do its thing - which after 30mins is nada. SADP is supposed to be able to see...
