When might we see Darkfighter 2.0 cameras and AcuSearch NVRs in UK stock?

It's obviously time you bought another one.....

When might we see Darkfighter 2.0 cameras and AcuSearch NVRs in UK stock?

So it's not like an Iphone launch then - tell you this week and ship it next week. I had a feeling that might be the case. I wanted a camera for the side of my house, and thought I'd hang on to see what was available - but if it's 2025 (likely) - I'll just plump for something from the existing...

When might we see Darkfighter 2.0 cameras and AcuSearch NVRs in UK stock?

I had a watch through the Darkfighter 2.0 launch the other day - when might UK stocks come through? It'll be good to see some actual footage to see if it's as good as they claim. Am I right in thinking that these will be the mid to upper range of cameras once launched? So not at the budget end...

    Hik-Connect Hik-Connect Update 23/08/24 (6.6.0.20240822.2) - Finally! - Sorting Supported

I’ve just force closed and restarted the app, and the option is there again. But it’s still all the right devices, but not necessarily in the right order. Have dragged them all back to where I had them now. Hope I don’t have to re-sort them after every update.

    Hik-Connect Hik-Connect Update 23/08/24 (6.6.0.20240822.2) - Finally! - Sorting Supported

My app updated on iPhone to 6.6.301 yesterday and my custom sorting has gone - all my devices are still there, but no longer in the right order. I think hikvision are secretly employing morecambe and wise. You’ll have to be a certain age to understand that :)

Recommended 4G/5G router and SIM for remote site CCTV? (in the UK)

In our case we had a couple of GEM420 routers donated to us from a local CCTV company - they're not recent models, but they said they were solid pieces of kit, and the last two years of flawless connection have demonstrated that :) (There's one on ebay at the moment so they do pop up used). They...

Recommended 4G/5G router and SIM for remote site CCTV? (in the UK)

Yes - regular unlimited data simcard and a regular unlocked 4g router is enough for older kit - not sure how it might manage with a full run of 8mp cameras on the latest nvr’s though - imagine it’ll still be fine, as you don’t actually get 8mp worth of image being sent to your phone screen. The...

AX PRO Is it possible to call/sms different phone numbers based on which area triggered the alarm?

Just amended my post slightly as my brain wasn't working. I blame the fact I've been painting gloss tonight.

AX PRO Is it possible to call/sms different phone numbers based on which area triggered the alarm?

You need a sim card in the AX Pro to enable text and calls. Although you can have multiple dial-outs - there's no option to separate the calls into zones. These are the simcard dial out/sms out options:

    RTMP Hikvision

Is there a PC on the same network that's on 24/7? If so - you could use something like OBS and the camera's RTSP feed. If not - the options as I see them are - buy an NVR and streaming device for the location - or buy a different camera with the RTMP function built in.

    RTMP Hikvision

The custom firmware Dan mentions is specific to the cameras that can do it - with Hikvision you can't just load any old firmware - it doesn't work that way sadly. There are devices available (that I've used) that can convert the HDMI or VGA output of a network video recorder to a RTMP feed for...

Adding additional Hik Camera to POE switch - no lights?

Just to check - your PoE-MAX light isn't coming on when you connect this camera? (It shouldn't - but just seeing whether the PoE switch is getting something wrong) And is the rear dip switch off for long range? I don't think either of these things should be an issue - but trying to rule...

Adding additional Hik Camera to POE switch - no lights?

How are you defining 'the switch has capacity'? If you temporarily remove several of the existing cameras - even all of them - and just plug in the new camera - does it work then?

PTZ IP Camera - How to configure it to be fixed in certain position ?

It will depend on brand/model/software. Many PTZ's have a 'Park' option after set time. So it might be preset 1 after the last movement happened 300 seconds ago. If it's a well known brand someone might be able to help - otherwise you'll need to look in the available browser connection to see...

Old house has cctv coax cameras, how can I use them?

That dome has seen better days. As above - if you want cameras - probably better off getting a fresh setup.

Hik-Connect Android - Can’t remove a camera [Cam0@] from showing in the App?

Perfect - problem solved. I had considered channel zero - logged into the NVR, and it wasn't set there as active - and didn't see it under camera management. The lady has 4 NVR's on her hik-connect - but the other 3 are shared in - so it was only happening on hers. Now I know where it is in...

Hik-Connect Android - Can’t remove a camera [Cam0@] from showing in the App?

Can’t quite work this one out. A friend has an old K series NVR which has 4 cameras attached via POE. On the NVR itself there are only four cameras. In my Hikproconnect screen there are only four cameras. But in my friend's Hik-Connect app there are 5 cameras - of which the first one (camera...

AX PRO AX Pro alarm - going completely offline regularly?

I fitted a wireless AX pro alarm to a friends house about a year ago - and until recently it’s been working well. It’s on the latest firmware - and is connected to both Ethernet and WiFi - but not using a SIM card. In recent weeks it appears to be going offline completely every minute for...

    Firmware [Rant] Firmware Minefield

For one of the biggest manufacturers of security equipment in the world - their firmware upgrades are dire. I picture it as there being one person somewhere in Northern China that builds the firmware from his bedroom, who uploads it to a random folder. It's then passed to Barbara on reception...

If my NVR is stolen I would like to have a NAS in other place mirroring my NVR?

Can't help with what you're looking for - but I have one location where the main NVR (the important one, decent spec) is well hidden - and then have a second NVR (budget brand, small HDD) in a fairly easy to see prominent location. All cameras are added to the main NVR, and again to the second...
