You used the gen 2 firmware when your recorder is gen 1 and you've likely bricked it unless it can be revived. Probably best to return back to your supplier explaining above. The correct firmware for gen 1 is here

Tried that firmware and its not accepted by the DVR, as shown below.
It appears not to be compatible, whereas the one I was using flashes OK, however, the DVR does not load.. as indicated in my first post..

This program will download and upgrade software.

Your DVR is the first gen acusense (K71) and the firmware I previously linked is the only one on the portal. Try V4.70.110_220328 which is found on the Hikvision website but nowhere to be found on the portal.

I tried that and it flashed OK, however, the problem is still there. previously it failed with tp2823 file, this time its the directory

loadAd tp2823:0, tp2833C:0, tp2827C:0, tp2828:0, tp2831:0, tp2830:0, nvp6134:0, nvp6134b:0, reg_fe:0, reg_ff:0
cmdBuf:insmod extdrv/
insmod: can't insert 'extdrv/': No such file or directory

I am also using the commands below; maybe they are not correct for this DVR

setenv ipaddr 192.0.0.64
setenv serverip 192.0.0.128
setenv bootargs console=ttyS0,115200n8 root=/dev/ram0 rw initrd=0x42000000 init=/bin/sh
setenv bootcmd 'tftp 0x42000000 uImage; update'

Using TFTP with serial cable attached to a 4 pin header on the main board. Console activity is accessed by PUTTY.
SADP or WEBGUI do not pick up the DVR.
The firmware flashes fine, as long as it is the correct one. After flashing and reboot the putty console displays the final line
insmod: can't insert 'extdrv/': No such file or directory

System does not go any further, there is NO Video display only the output in PUTTY

Yes, I have noticed other errors in the log files, so definitely not worth spending anymore time on...
