Hi,
I have a DS-7608NI-E2 nvr connected to a DS-2DE5220I-AE camera. I had the camera first and configured various scanning patterns via its web interface. Unless I'm missing something the configuration options in the nvr are limited.
I'm not happy with the scanning patterns of the camera and wondered if I could access the camera's settings directly with it still connected to the nvr?
The IP of the camera had to be changed when i connected it to the nvr.
The nvr is a 192.168* address whilst the camera is now a 10.16*. Does it act like a router?
Wanted to avoid having to connect a laptop directly to the camera.
Any advice would be appreciated.

You're right, some of the features on a camera are not able to be accessed by an NVR.
With your DS-7608NI-E2-8P you can use a feature called Virtual Host to directly access your cameras through the NVR, which acts somewhat like a bridge.
Have a read through of our guide on using Virtual Host.
