Alarm input to trigger recording

Hi there,

I have a DS-7732NI-I4 NVR and I'm struggling to get the alarm input to trigger recording on the device.

In 'basic events' 'alarm input' I have the arming schedule set to 24 hours.

For the linkage method I've set SEND EMAIL and selected to desired channels for trigger recording.

In 'storage' 'schedule settings' I have the camera schedules set to ALARM 24 hours a day.

I do receive the alarm email notifications so I know the PIR's are working, they just refuse to trigger a recording. Any help would be most appreciated.

What firmware version is the NVR currently using?

Do you have a HDD fitted in the NVR and is it formatted ready for recording?

Hi Dan,

Currently using V4.61.025 build 220905

Yes HDD is installed and does record successfully using motion detection.

The issue is just with recording via a alarm trigger.
