Hi I have an odd application I was looking to find a camera for. I’ve read some of your posts and was hoping for some of your knowledge.

I want to use a security camera for nighttime boating. Sow low light and low latency performance is what I’m after. One company makes a pricey camera for this

Nightwave Marine Night Vision Camera

Nightwave is an ultra low-light marine night vision camera for boating, allowing all levels of mariners to easily spot obstacles and debris in moonless starlight without white light or expensive thermal cameras. Navigate safely, avoid collisions, and maximize your time on the water in clear...

But I’m guessing it’s very overpriced due to a niche market.

Others have used IP cameras to good effect. But my marine monitor has minimal IP flexibility so a TVI output would provide easier adaptability to HDMI for me.

So can you recommend a low latency, high frame rate, very low ambient light camera with tvi output?

My current choice is

Are we talking about salt water or?

If yes, you do need camera with NEMA-4X protection. Otherwise salt will eat it in few months.

Hence why camera you suggested might be costly. You wont find any hikvision camera with NEMA-4X even close in price to model you suggested.

This is the IP list:

Now you can check each datasheet and see if its colorVu or not(color image during the night), also check the minimum light needed to be prsented in color mode. Best ones are usually around 0.0005 lux
