(C) models are newer hardware versions of the same model, they don't have any substantial hardware spec differences but they are using newer chips, sensors, etc... that support new firmware & software features. New (C) models will use G5 firmware which continues to be updated, while non-(C) models will use G3 firmware which is now basically obsolete and will only receive security updates.
(you will see in the G3 firmware folder linked above that the last released version has a build number of 211105 which means it was created on 05/11/2021 - which means there have been no updates for 16 months)
