Hi

Can anyone please help in an issue I am having with my newly purchased Hikvision NVR.

It is a DS-7616NI-M2/16P GUI 5.0
The font size is too big for my liking.
The tabs along the top are truncated because the whole menu title won't fit.

If there any way to make the font smaller in settings or is this built into the firmware?

I'm sure I've seen YouTube videos with full menu titles along top.

It was like that on my 1080p TV and still the same on the recently fitted 4k TV.

If you're referring to how it looks on your TV, that's usually a TV setting. Go through the picture size/aspect ratio options until it looks correct. I often find that when set to 'auto' you can't get at the icons right at the bottom as they're off screen, 'fit to screen' or '16:9' may be better. Additionally if it's a Panasonic TV in the advanced picture settings there's a 16:9 overscan option that needs changing.

Of course you should also check that the HDMI output resolution in the NVR display settings is set to 1080P 60Hz or 4K 60Hz. Perhaps that's set incorrectly...

Thank you for your speedy reply.
The NVR is set to 4k/60hz but I haven't checked the TV settings.
I'll do that now.

I've checked the TV settings and there's an option for screen aspect ratio but that's it and that only squashes the image even more.
Looks like I'm stuck with it.
Thank you for your suggestion.

I've just re read your original post so maybe I've misunderstood the problem. If you're talking about the tabs for Live View, Playback, Device Access etc then I'm not surprised if they're truncated if you have multiple tabs open. I only keep 'Live View' and 'Playback' tabs open as I use them all of the time. If I go into Device Config, Settings or any of the others to make a change I always close the tab when I'm done.

I preferred GUI 4 where there were no tabs....

I feel silly now.
I didn't know you could close the tabs.
I thought they were fixed shortcuts.
I've closed a few and the remaining tabs are showing full titles.
Thanks for the advice.
No wonder googling didn't bring up anything... No one is as dumb as me

Don't beat yourself up...nothing is obvious as far as Hikvision is concerned

I've got some pretty bad OCD and yet this doesn't bother me:

I figure you got to pick your battles with NVR 5.0 :)

Now I'm rambling on about something I've already gotten over... you can drag the tabs to reorder them, but after a re-boot the system puts them back where it wants... so what's the point in letting me reorder them if they don't stay that way :(
