Configuring an email alert for when a camera stops recording?

I want to test email alerts when a camera stops recording.
I set my NVR with the correct email and smtp settings (the test email works) and an exception for record/capture to send me an email.

When I turn off the camera I only get an alert for video signal lost.

How could I test this correctly?

we mainly use hikvision DS-2CD1121-I. we have about 27 NVRS model DS-7632NI-K2 with different firmware on each one, most are V4.72.107 build 220914 though

I think the issue is using "Record/Capture Exception" because this is a specific HDD log error code that isn't usually triggered by a camera being disconnected. If the most common reason for your cameras to stop recording is the cameras going offline then I would try using "Network Disconnected" instead, I don't think there will be an option to trigger a notification if the recording stops for any reason.
