Dahua DVR not sending email alerts?

I have a Dahua XVR5108 HS DVR. All is working fine with the exception of it sending Email alerts. I have entered all the Information, smtp, email Recieve & send. Password the lot. I keep getting Fail when i do hit test. I have also tried it on Yahoo mail account and outlook mail account with the same results. I know i have entered all the information correctly on all accounts as i have checked it over and over. I know i am missing something but can not figure out what.

I have solved the Dahua Email alert Problem. I used a Free Outlook Email account. Entered all the information and simply Rebooted the DVR and all worked. I had spent a spent a lot of hours trying to get this to work checking and rechecking everything and all it needed was a simple reboot. So lesson learned for the future.

Hi.

I just joined up to say thank you for that tip. As a computer tech with 20 years experience, I had tried everything but doing something so basic. I signed up specifically to say thank you. When people contribute as opposed to purely leaching, the internet and the world becomes a better place.

Thank you for your comment that was driving me crazy seeing I also host 300 websites and I'm very familiar with setting up smtp servers.

Anyone else finds this comment helpful. Contribute. don't just leach.
