Does Panoramic DS-2CD2387G2P Have audio and alarm over ethernet cable?

I Purchased some DS-2CD2387G2P panoramic cameras, and have several installation questions. I'll start with just one, for now.

These cameras have a couple of extra cables coming out - Labelled "Audio" and "Alarm". Are these for enhanced audio and alarm, or are they the only way to have that function? In other words: is there no Audio and Alarm function over the ethernet connection?

Depends on the full model number which you’ve not given.

If the camera has an internal microphone and speaker that audio functions over Ethernet. The additional connection is for an external device which if you were to use would still function via Ethernet. All alarms such as motion detection, line crossing etc are available. Again the wired input/output are for connecting external devices that would be signalled over the cameras Ethernet connection.

Thanks - I was hoping that was the case. Surprised there is nothing in the Hikvision lieterature to describe the cables and how to use them.

So you have the LSU/SL....

It has an internal microphone and speaker, so you will be able to stream/record the audio from that internal microphone. The speaker can be used for either a siren, pre programmed voice alert or two way talk via Hik-Connect (there's also a strobe light). No additional wiring is needed.
