Is it possible to replace my hard drive with a 1 Tb SSD. If so would i need to clone my original or just do a straight swop? Assume the software to run it is on the original?

AFAIK you should be able to use an SSD.
We have certainly used them in other NVRs.
You will need to make a fresh start with the drive e.g. install it, then, Config > Storage > Format

does the hard drive have the config software on it, or are they clean when new? I.E when you first set nvr up, where is that config software?

Can I ask why you're wanting an SSD drive? It seems that none of the benefits associated with SSD's would be helpful in an application like an NVR which is just constantly writing.
