I thought I would try a new thread as my question was added to another thread relating to a different issue.
I keep getting an error on my hikconnect app when trying to view my nvr playback.
It says
no more connections allowed for the device. Please stop one or more connections and try again.
I have 1 ds 2cd2347g2 4mp camera and 1 ds 2cd2387g2 8mp. Currently connected. The later being added in the last couple of weeks. I did have 2 ds 2cd2347g2 cameras previous that I have had for over a year trouble free.

What are the connects related to? I only have my hikconnect app to view.
I do go on my lap top rarely to alter a setting or two but it's never on when the app is.
The only thing I get when I turn the laptop on is a prompt to let hikvision change settings on my computer.

Is this an app issue or an issue with the nvr not being happy with some thing?
Once I get the message in the app I also get a message on the nvr itself when clicking playback. It says "no more playback channels allowed.

The ddns isn't set in hikconnect or remote configuration if that means anything?
Do the app WiFi settings look OK?

On the Web access for either camera. The device names are the same and so is the device number. .(System settings, basic information ) is that correct? Should they not have a different device No?

You haven't shown the screen that details whether or not you've set a static IP address for the NVR (Network Settings > TCP/IP tab). In the other thread I mentioned that for the best performance/results you should:

1 - Set a static IP address on the NVR (unknown)
2 - Change the default ports for security (yours are default)
3 - Switch off UPnP (yours is enabled)
4 - Set up port forwarding in the router (instructions were given for your Virgin Media Hub 3)
5 - Configure DDNS in the app (you mention you haven't)

Probably the latter - network configuration, the UPnP not working reliably despite the "valid" mappings shown hence the recommendation to use port forwarding

That should be set when you've set up port forwarding as described.

They're irrelevant. In normal use those settings are not needed.

That's fine. The cameras are managed and configured by the NVR. The NVR changes just the IP address in the camera when it activates it using plug and play - nothing else is needed.

The camera settings will have nothing to do with your Hik Connect problem but I notice that although they are connected to the NVR, you're possibly altering the settings directly in the camera webpage.

Unfortunately unless you attempt some of the previous suggestions it's unlikely to get resolved. Tinkering with settings randomly is unlikely to get it working and you could cause further issues.

The only reason I haven't done the configuration yet as I'm still digesting what you said to make sure I do it right.
I also had a worry when you said about rebooting the v media hub. Ours I would say gets done 2 or 3 times a year. I thought it would lose everything I put in and the nvr wouldn't work properly to my app until I repeated everything again.
I did remember following the set up on here and doing something to stop my router changing address. Is that the static ip? Was changing ports part of your instructions on the other thread? I thought I picked ip address when I set it up. I can't have done.
I will have to look how to change ports.

No problem. Sometimes when you look at a long list of do this, do that it’s a bit daunting, I understand that.

Just remember that everything you change is reversible so you won’t break it. The Virgin Hub once you program it will keep its settings when you reboot it. Of course if you put a pin in the reset button on the back OR Virgin Media reset it remotely (they do that sometimes without telling you) the settings would be lost and need reprogramming. But it’s only a 5 minute job to type them back in again if that should happen.

Just snapshot your settings with your phone camera before and after you make changes. That way you have a point to return to.

What is the address? - it's OK to show that one as it is behind your router on the internal network - mine is 192.168.0.250 for instance. I use that one (.250) as the router hands out addresses in order, so there's no chance that the router will try and assign 192.168.0.250 to another device (as I haven't got 248 other devices on the network). The reason I'm asking what yours ends in, is that if it's a very low address - 192.168.0.12 as an example; at some point the router may try and assign that address to some item with DHCP. The router itself is 192.168.0.1 - so once there are 10 devices on your network, it's possible that the router could assign 192.168.0.12 to another device.

Yes - SADP should only show one device - the NVR. That is the reason that the cameras, when attached to the NVR, are given an address in another range (192.168.254.xxx by default) They are effectively on another network and so cannot be accessed from any device on your home network or from the internet, without going through the NVR using the Virtual Host feature. That makes it more secure and also keeps all of that traffic from the cameras off your network.
 
Which address do I need to show you?
The NVR IP address is 192.168.0.??? If you decide to set up port forwarding in the VM Hub 3 - that is the destination address you will forward the ports to.

It's the IPV4 address I'm interested in.

However while you're in that page, your gateway address should be 192.168.0.1 (same as the VM Hub), DNS address could be a variety of things but if it is set to auto DNS it will have possibly selected VMs DNS servers, which are 194.168.4.100 and 194.168.8.100. If so, untick the auto box for that and set primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 with secondary to 8.8.4.4

In the NVR page where the IPV4 address and gateway are set, there are also 2 DNS addresses. These are not the same as DDNS - two different things.

Yes prefered dns is 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4

Yeah. Had to do it twice. It lasted 2 days and did it again.

That would be my advice. From the first three bullet points on that - ignore the first, as you've confirmed that your static IP address is set, along with the gateway and DNS servers as they should be.

Using the NVR local menu - change the ports and disable UPnP as described. Once that has been done, carry out the port forwarding in the router as shown - the only difference is that you will use 192.168.0.100 as the destination address rather than .200 as shown in my example. Once you've completed that:

1 - reboot the Hub 3 (just power off and back on again - don't touch that reset button!)
2 - reboot the NVR
3 - on your Hik Connect app - configure DDNS (set port mapping to manual, enter server and http port numbers to those that you've set and enter your NVR admin password then save)
4 - on the app log out, log in again

Hopefully that'll have you sorted.
