Hello,

Currently onsite at our premises we have a Hikvision DS-7616NI-K2/16P Network Video Recorder, there are already DS-2CD2123G0-I connected which are plugged into the POE ports within the NVR.

However, when connecting a Hikvision DS-2CD2T46G2-ISU/SL through the POE ports on the NVR, the cameras do not go online after confirming the details.

However, when you introduce a switch via the LAN port, the cameras show on the NVR straight away.

What can the reason be for the cameras not being detected when connected to the POE ports?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, all firmware is the latest versions and everything is updated.

Usually this would happen when the camera has been activated prior to plugging it into the NVR...

Usually this would happen when the camera has been activated prior to plugging it into the NVR.

Factory reset the camera in question then plug it into a PoE port on the NVR. That allows the NVR to activate and assign the new camera an IP address in the correct range (192.168.254.xxx by default)

Alternatively, while the camera is on the LAN, assign an address in the 192.168.254.xxx range (add 100 to the camera number to avoid a clash - IE: if it’s going to be camera 6 use 192.168.254.106). Then on the NVR go to the cameras page in setup and click edit on one of the unused cameras. In the pop up box change from plug and play to manual, enter the IP address you used and the admin password and save. Plug the camera into the NVR and you’re good to go.
