I am wondering in this particular case,if the cameras are **not IP cameras and the DVR specs are as below, how many **non IP 5MP or 8MP cameras are able to be attached and recording at the same time, not neccessarily streaming at the same time but recording at the same time??
This dvr is an 8 channel dahua but the specs specify it can run 16 IP cameras with each channel can stream simultaneously???
Thanks for any help

As analogue (non-IP) cameras have to be plugged into the rear of the DVR then it is usually pretty clear how many can be connected.

I have never known a hybrid recorder (one that can accept analogue AND IP cameras) to state that it can accept MORE IP cameras than analogue cameras i.e. you mention it is an 8-channel DVR, but say it allows 16 IP cameras.

Feel free to share the actual model number of the recorder.
