Hi!

Is it possible for someone to let me have a link to upgrading the firmware on my 2CD2385FWD-1 & 2CD2385G1-1 cameras?

Thanks

Hi,

The DS-2CD2385G1-I and DS-2CD2385FWD-I both use the same firmware, please find the link below...

The DS-2CD2385G1-I should be fine to upgrade to the latest firmware version (V5.6.820 220519).

As the DS-2CD2385FWD-I is a bit more out of date, we would recommend upgrading to V5.5.80 180911, then to V5.6.1 190604, before then upgrading to the latest firmware version (V5.6.820 220519).

The DS-2CD2142FWD-I's seem to be on the latest firmware version, you can always check by going to this link below...

Most grateful Jake

One of my DS-2CD2142FWD-I needs replacing.

What is the straight swop equivalent product as the 2142 is obsolete?

Jake, I can't undate the 2385FWD as it keeps asking me for the plugin which I have run.

Any ideas??

What browser are you using to view the camera in, please?

It may be better to try viewing the cameras using Hikvision's iVMS-4200 software instead.

The download link for iVMS-4200 is below...

I am grateful for your patience!

I can't get my head around iVMS-4200

I then realised that I can upgrade the cameras via a usb stick.

However, when I go into the local upgrade, the USB stick is showing but when I click on DAV, ZIP file type, the upgrade file does not come up!!

I thought I was nearly there.

I have tried adding both the zipped download & the unzipped DAV file to the stick but neither are recognised.

Just a wild guess...... what are the chances your USB stick is formatted as NTFS or exFat ?

If so, you might have better luck re-formatting it to FAT16 (or FAT32).

Wild but correct!!

It was ex fat

Reformatted to fat32 & its worked

Thanks to you both for taking an interest in my problem

Does anyone have a firmware dump for the DS-2CD2142FWD-IS camera?
My camera won't start up.
I can connect via UART... I can see the logs... I'm installing the firmware from the Hikvision portal for the R6 series.
I'm doing it via “update”... The update completes successfully, but the camera still reboots...
I have several of these with the same problem...

Hi @Focster

Are you able to see what firmware version the camera is currently running?

There are a lot of different firmware versions for the 2142FWD; if these cameras are running a very old firmware and you try to jump to the latest firmware, the update might not work.

If you can confirm the current firmware, we can recommend which firmware versions you should update to first before updating to the latest firmware.

If you can't confirm the current firmware, have you tried hard resetting the cameras?

I mentioned earlier that the camera won’t boot.

And before attempting to update the camera, they run the “format” command, so nothing remains of the old firmware… this is visible in the UART log.

I suspect that some seller (or company) might have modified the bootloader to suit their own needs, which is why the official updates don’t work.

The sticker on the camera indicates firmware version v.5.4.5_170124.

Although I’ve tried various firmwares from the portal… none of them work… I tried this one… and even 5.3.

Via the Update command…

The UPF command doesn't work during the update... because it starts looking for the mimage_r6 file.

That's why I'm looking for the exact dump.
