Hik-Connect Getting pictures but no notifications on my phone

Glenn is my friend and I helped him install his system.
I have a 7608NI-I-8P which works ok and I get the notifications at the bottom of my Hik-Connect screen. We have tried going through everything on mine to compare but the GUI is totally different.
we’ve also compared everything on the IPhones and all seems the same.
What are we missing, any ideas?

Well... first make sure you enabled notifications in HIK-Connect app in two places:
1. General setting: More-->Settings-->Message push notification
2. Settings each camera: 3 little dots above camera-->Alarm Notification--> Enable
Also disable power saving for HIK Connect (nnot sure if that applied to iPhones but there is option to make sure HIK runs in background continuously).
Then make sure that "Notify Surveillance Centre" is set for your chosen event / smart event.
If that fails you may be in the same category as me
In my case notifications work but very, very rarely (maybe 1 in 100). When I also configure to "Email notification" along with "Notify Surveillance Centre" then everything works perfectly. Without "email notification" hardly any notification is sent to HIK connect app.
