Having a few problems with files on iVMS-4500?

Having a few problems with files on i4500 some files show up in a thumbnail image and others don't, I need these files to use as evidence for Anti Social Behaviour. When I send these file for people to view unless the person has VLC player they can't view the files. Any help here would be good.

VLC supports not all codec's. Also based on the hardware. Newer hardware supports better hardware decoding. Sometimes its better to use .avi and not mp4. Or you have to convert the media. VSPlayer from Hikvision plays and works all fine!
