Hik-Connect Hik-connect LAN vs cloud?

Hello

I can access my nvr without any issues when i am away from home. I use hik-connect app and just enabled platform access on the nvr. I didnt do any firewall setting, no port forwarding. All is working.

I am wondering. When i am at home and on the same lan network. Does hikconnect still connect to nvr over hikvision cloud or is it smart enough to connect directly to minimize latency?

Hi @Munu8744, if you add it through SN it will always be through cloud.
Because adding was made through SN, not through IP address.

If you add it through IP it will be visible when you are at your local network but won't be when you are away.

Best is to have local Network and Cloud. When you are away Connect through Cloud, and at Home through LAN
