I have an older DS-7208HUHI-K1 unit and cant get into the settings as I don't know the password. It has the older software on it...so it wont let me use Hik-Connect app to generate a code. Help! Is my only option to factory reset it?

FActory resetting won't make a difference unless you've already got access to the menu and can do that. You need a password reset. Usually Hikvision support won't deal with an end user but recently someone reported back that they'd successfully reset their DVR with Hikvison support. You'd need to use SADP and click the forgot password link and generate/export an xml file. You send that and once you have a file returned to you import it to reset and create a new password. But as said it depends on whether Hikvision support will respond to you. Alternatively there's a DS-7608HUHI-K1 on eBay for £80 inc P&P (which has the latest 4.25.001 on it)
