Hi I'm looking to get either the IDS-2CD7A46G0/P-IZHS and I see in online manual that it shows you have to add a sd card is there no way to connect it to a hikivision poe nvr cause I have bad history with some sd cards going bad few months later or does it only work with sd card?

SD card is optional; you can plug it directly into the PoE port of a Hikvision NVR without issue.
