Hikvision 7716NI-I4 NVR - LEDs at power up?

I have a new Hikvision 7716NI-I4-8TB-
out of the box i turned it on via front power button--the unit face buttons lit up but the power light did not go to blue as stated in start up guide--it stayed white--the HDD light flashed red--the HikVision logo came on the screen for about 30 seconds--then went blank--no user interface--will sit there with HDD light flashing occasionally--
is this a bad one or is there a fix--Thanking all in advance--hh

This doesn't sound good, are you able to connect the NVR to your local network using the LAN port on the NVR?

If you can, try installing SADP on a PC on the same network as the NVR and then try activating and logging in to the NVR with a browser using the IP address in SADP. You can then try hard resetting the NVR from the browser to see if that fixes the direct monitor access.

If you can't plug the NVR into your local network for any reason your only other option will be to speak to the seller/installer you purchased from and try to organise returning the NVR to them for testing.
