Hi,

I have just installed Hikvision DS-2CD2387G2-LU 2.8mm POE Mic ColorVu 24/7.

I currently have Hikvision DS-2CD2386G2-IU AcuSense 8MP Darkfighter turret camera IR & Mic, are there any settings that I should know about that I should turn on or off?

Am I ok using the same bitrate / frame rate etc as I have for my darkfighter cameras ?

Yes, the same bitrate and framerate should be fine and no particular settings I can recommend to turn on or off.

Hi Dan, many thanks for the reply. That’s great. I am having a slight issue on playback. When someone is walking the video freezes for a second or so, like they are in slow motion / stuttering .

Any ideas what that could be ?

Adding to the above, just watched another playback from today. The person walking in the playback stops for a millisecond then the walk speeds up for a second then slow again, then fast ?

OK, could be a bitrate issue. Have you tried reducing the bitrate?

Have you also tried downloading and playing back one of these glitches? Does the freezing/skipping appear in both browser & downloaded playback or just when accessing with a browser? (to download clips from the browser you need to right-click the IE icon and click 'run as administrator' to be allowed to download load files)

Thanks again for the reply, I will try reducing the bitrate tonight. Currently set at 8192.

I watch most of the playback through ivms 4200, I will also try downloading it tonight and report back tomorrow.

So reporting back. I used playback on the web browser was fine. So deleted ivms 4200, re installed newer version as wasn’t sure how you update it ?

All seems to be ok now. The only slight issue I have noticed, is that at night or early in the morning when it’s still dark, if I walk past the camera in say a dark blue top it seems to make it very light coloured, nearly making myself into a ghost ? Many thanks
