Hikvision DS-7612NI-E2 NVR with Dahua cameras

Hi all

I have the Hikvision DS-7612NI-E2 NVR and a couple of the Dahua 4831-EMP-ASE cameras, i am trying to use the motion detection setting on the camera and have it record on the Hikvision NVR, the detection works on the camera but the NVR is not recording anything. If the NVR was set to record continuously it does without any issues.

Have you definitely set the recording schedule so that it's constantly set to 'Motion' and not 'Continuous', so it looks something like this below?

Hi Kyle,
I am assuming you mean setting the NVR to Motion recording, I assumed that setting the NVR recording to motion was for if you are using the NVR’s motion detection , where I want to use the cameras motion detection to prompt the NVR to record, I will try this thank you

Yes sorry, wasn't the clearest wording! The motion detection feature is unique to the cameras, the NVR's don't actually have it, they just process and handle the camera's motion detection. Let me know how you get on
