Hikvision DS7608 - Password recovery from admin account on mobile and desktop?

The house we bought already has this system and it turns out I don't have the password for the admin account accessing the box directly or via the browser.
I do have a username and password for an Admin level account on the PC (Windows) app and another for the mobile (Android) App.

Is there any way to reset the password for the NVR with what I have?

Ask the previous owner for the NVR and camera admin passwords, also ask if they are associated with a Hikconnect account. Find out which company supplied the nvr / cameras.

seems to be a common story these days, are they still in business?

What about the hikconnect account?

Take a look all around the NVR and see if the password is written anywhere.

You may have to follow this process and send the file to the original supplier

Ta - I've sent the xml file exported to Hikvision. Only way I'll get in I suspect.

They will probably refer you to the original supplier, fingers crossed.
