Hikvision Model Naming Code

Hi

I am keen to understand the coding used by Hikvision for their cameras/NVR etc. DO Use-ip have a coding sheet to explain how a camera model code is constructed?

Thank you for the prompt response.

Looking at the document, I can decipher most of the below camera, however, the LU is not listed - I think U would means includes microphone.

Is there a 2020 version of the document?

Hikvision DS-2CD2347G2-LU 4MP

Also, on the following PTZ model, what does the S5 mean?

DS-2DE5425IW-AE(S5)

Hi @CCTVRONNIE

The 'L' in -LU refers to 'Light' as the ColorVu cameras have a visible white LED floodlight to help achieve the colour images at night.

In the case 5425, the (S5) is a hardware update with several small spec adjustments which can see by comparing the datasheets. The biggest visible difference is the (S5) model includes a wall bracket in the box with the camera.

Hi @CCTVRONNIE

Just to add to what Dan has said, the new (S5) PTZ models are being marketed as AcuSense models as they also use algorithms to ensure accurate human and vehicle classifications - "Accurate human and vehicle target classification, alarm, and linked tracking based on deep learning algorithm"

resurrecting an older topic again....

As some products have evolved since this thread was started, I'm unable to find the reference for some turret cameras.
For example:
DS-2CD2346G2-ISU/SL

- this is a random pick, but the ISU/SL bit is not fully referenced on any charts I've found.
As I understand it, the "-I" means IR support, the "-S" means Audio (sound) support - so the "-IS" bit is known.... but I can't find anything for "-U".
And likewise, what about "/SL" - is this a single code meaning 'Strobe Light' for example, as in supporting white light output? or is this two seperate identifiers, for example the "/S" meaning on-board speaker and "/L" meaning white light support....??

And as another thought to add to this - if a camera has on-board speaker and microphone, does this count as the sound interface and is referenced by the "-S" or does "-S" mean there is a seperate connection to external audio I/O; so for example would a "-ISU/SL" camera only come with the RJ45 and power connections, or a seperate pigtail/terminal block for external audio/alarms?

I is infra red, S is actually alarm input/output, U is microphone, SL strobe light.

It’s easy enough just to copy and paste the full model number into a browser address or search bar. That always gets you to a Hikvision page with the full datasheet available even when it’s a model that’s been obsolete for some time. There’s much information in the data sheet that isn’t in a model code so don’t rely on them.

yeah I've done that a few times... the issue comes in some cases such as with a PTZ where it's been updated to a newer model but keeps the code apart from an "(S5)" suffix, and then searching the model number only tends to bring up the newer version. What would be useful is if the datasheet showed an image of the connections or pigtails as there may be a model that has built-in microphone and speaker but also has a seperate terminal block for external audio whilst another model may not.
