HIKVISION SMART ANPR CAMERA NOT READING REGS AT NIGHT

Hi
Hope someone can help me out here

I Recently installed a HIKVISION SMART ANPR CAMERA 8-32MM to my hikvision nvr .
I have it mounted before an entrance at about 50-60ft height and 15-20ft from where I am trying to capture reg plates .
It works really well during the day capturing reg plates but at night they all have a white glare and does not read any at all .
I was told from my supplier it’s already set up by tech guys in the factory and no other settings needed to be adjusted and from what I tried to adjust via nvr options (as this is how I set it up ) there was not a lot to settings available to adjust, only zoom options and the area that I wanted to capture

Has anyone else had this problem and how can I resolve this issue ?

I have adjust the angle and distance from camera to cars a few times but still does not help once it gets dark

Can you please provide the full model number of the camera you are using, including all suffix characters
 
Yes, there should be a product label (with the full model number and other info) on both the camera itself and the box it came in
 
Make sure your Mounting Scenario (usually in Configuration>Image) is set to Road not normal.

Yes, that camera model does come with ANPR capability pre-loaded.

Hi guys back again unfortunately!

I have tried adjusting camera via nvr as I cannot seem to view over a laptop/computer as I don’t have the user and password for viewing this way , even though I can via the mobile app (user and password seems not to work for laptop/computer viewing .

I can only adjust zoom, iris and focus settings in one section via nvr and in another section I can adjust brightness, contrast and saturation but even by changing these settings none seem to help with white glare .

I even tried placing a registration plate 3ft away from camera to configure settings and was still giving a white glare and could just about make a registration out and that was just 3ft away .

I noticed there seems to be a beam of white beam of light the comes from this camera which can be seen from another camera I have mounted which seems to be interfering with the registration plates at night , I understand there are settings I can edit over a lepton but how can I access this if I have not the user/password

I will attach some photos and one of the beam of light which can be seen from another camera .

I hope someone can shed some light on this case and hopefully I can resolve it once and for all

On the NVR, do you have this option on the Camera Management menu?

Yes I do have that setting , when selected
User name :admin
Password: was blank so have put in several passwords that I may have used in the past but none are correct, is it a default password for each camera ?
 
I have the same camera in ANPR mode.
You need to log in to the camera via a webpage to do the advanced setup, the NVR will only do basic setup.

My Image settings are:

Exposure Settings
Iris mode "auto"
Auto Iris level 100
Exposure time 1/150
Gain 100

Day/Night Switch:
Smart supplement light ON
Mode: Manual
Low Beam distance 27
High Beam distance 23

Backlight Settings:
WDR "ON" 15

I get a really good night capture with no IR bounce back.
 
As Malford said, you need to login via the webGUI to set it up correctly. One option is to plug a laptop directly into one of the PoE ports on the back of the NVR. Provided the laptop is in the same IP range you will be able to access the camera via IE11. If prompted, download Webcomponents.exe. Close all browsers and run it as Admin. Open IE11 and click Allow if prompted to enable the extension.
If the LPR camera was added automatically by the NVR, try login with admin and the same password you use for the NVR, fingers crossed.

Thanks for your feedback guys .

I tried several things and this is now where i am stuck , i even connected nvr directly to laptop and still getting error in the bottom of the page . I checked on the nvr and its saying its online , does anyone have a possible solution to this ? Or what I should do next ???

Do you have a PoE injector available? If so, my suggestion would be this:
Reset the camera. Open the covering (same place as the SD card goes I believe) and perform a factory reset.
With the camera connected to the injector (PoE port) and the injector (LAN port) connected to your router.
From your laptop, activate the camera with the SADP tool and give it an IP address on the same range as your laptop.
Use IE11 (not Edge) from your laptop to configure the LPR settings.
If you don't have a PoE injector it can still be done it's just a bit more complicated.

No I have not got a POE injector but could possibly purchase one online if you think it’d be worth it and get it sorted for me ?

Still can’t get my head around why im finding it so difficult to add the device , even from above pics the ampr camera is not even on that device just 5 normal hikvision cameras and it’s not adding them or the nvr , am I doing something wrong , a wrong setting somewhere along the way because from what I have read and watched online it should be ready to connect now and view but that is not the case from above

Have made some progress as now I can view cameras via laptop imvs 4200 client software . Have spent the last hour trying to find the right settings to adjust anpr camera but the settings that I have found seem to not the same as others have adjusted , I have a few screenshots attached below if someone can see what is wrong now or how I can get advanced settings to solve this problem

You can't set the LPR camera correctly via iVMS-4200. You need to access the camera via its webGUI. Try connect to the LPR camera's IP address using IE11.
 
Have you tried running the SADP tool to locate the NVR on network?

Once you can see the NVR click on the IP address and log in using IE11 then go into "Network" "Advanced" then put a tick into "Virtual Host"
Then go back to "System" "camera management" then select the IP camera you want to log into by clicking on the hyperlink at the end of the table.
This should then open a new tab/window and take you directly to the cameras own webgui page, from here you can select all options to control the bounce back and image settings etc.
