I am using a Raspberry Pi with a Python script to take periodic snapshots from a DS 2DE4225IW DE camera for a weather website.
It is all working fine, however, the image quality is not as good as the images captured from eg the web interface or the Hik-Connect app or the iVMS windows software. Please see attached for comparison. Especially noticeable is the banding in the sky of the url captured image.
The capture url I am using is:
This is evidently taken from the main stream, because if I change the resolution of the main stream, so too does the resolution of the image.
Also irksome is that the size of the OSD text does not match that set in the web interface configuration (and which works for all the web interface / Hik-Connect / iVMS).
Any idea how to improve the image quality and / or change the size of the OSD text of the captured image?
