Hikvison DS-7716NI-I4-16 NVR - Power Loss recovery

Hi all


I am looking at using the Hikvison DS-7716NI-I4-16 NVR on an installation with 4 Cameras. I know I cant link this to a UPS but wondered what the data Protection was like in the event of power loss (obviously I know recording will stop)

Hi, All modern NVRs tend to tolerate well the unexpected power-down, and automatically resume recording when the power is restored.

Of course, using a UPS is likely to sustain your system through most short duration UK power-cuts.
And, if you sustain the NVR and are using POE from the NVR to power the cameras, then you will keep the whole system working.

Some NAS-type recording solutions such as those available from Synology & QNAP may be able to interface intelligently with a UPS.
