Interesting that they are making five different camera models ANPR capable (see 2mins 30 secs), from mini-bullet to mini-PTZ and even their box camera.

Hopefully, they will confirm matching capability in their NVRs to work with these ANPR cameras.

Any update on availability? Looking at either replacing some of current HIK units with Milesight (and likely NVRs) or holding out for easyip4 hik. Been looking at the current milesight small vandal proof with 25fps as says good recognition of number plate possible. Appreciate thoughts and experience. Current HIks are around 5yrs old.

Hi,
The Milesight ANPR cameras are available now, but they have no systems ready to manage the ANPR data from the cameras yet - i.e. no NVR compatibility, nor software, to process number plates.

I learned yesterday that Hikvision UK do not plan to bring EasyIP 4.0 to the UK!!
Two thousand posts - onwards & upwards!

The only way to be sure of capturing number plates 24hrs a day is to use a specialist ANPR camera. We ship (and have shipped) loads of these, they just work! Although it carries a premium price tag, it is an awful lot cheaper than ANPR cameras used to be (and currently, pricing from Milesight is higher).

So, current 'state of the art' [which is available]:
Hikvision -I NVR
Hikvision 8MP cameras, typically turrets, typically Hikvision's DS-2CD2383 8MP turret
WD Purple HDDs
You can simply add ANPR if you need it

Great value, proven technology, lots of happy customers :)

@Phil thanks. I also have (I think) a 2cd2532 which is nice size, mounted vertically looking down road. What options on HIK today given we are unlit country road .. a cd2563 or cd2145? Looking at the latter as whilst a bit bigger has better IR, seems to be able to be mounted same as I have today, and could give better view on vehicles. Current camera is 2m above drive/road.

HI @Phil revisiting the above now I have new NVR and couple of new cameras from you working.
The HIK 4A26 is a bit too big for mounting. You mentioned the HIK turret as option for ANPR is this correct?
Alternatively do you guys stock the Milesight LPR cameras that I could connect to HIK NVR?
My other option - looking at the website - is something like Axis dome that has high enough FPS and WDR, etc.
Money always a factor :-) but in this case more the size of the camera. Ta.

No, we only ever recommend the 4A26 for ANPR.

I would not recommend any option other than the 4A26.
