NVR and Nas

Hi I have a 7608mi-i2 nvr with 2tb hdd installed, I also have readynas 104 with 4x6tb hdds,

on the nvr is option of net hdd, i created a share on the nas, with 2tb (i think) and the nvr finds it but it wont do anything with it it just beeps and displays offline??

can this work? have i got a setting wrong i cant seem to find any info?

1. Make sure you have the latest firmware. Earlier versions had a problem where only ~200G could be allocated as one drive.
2. Make sure that drive you are sharing can only be written by camera/NVR. Camera neds to know how much space is allocated. If something gets written to that disk by another process the disk will go offline.
3. If disk is shared for other things make sure you create a user for the camera and allocate max quota for that user. Alternatively create Samba share of chosen size and use that share / virtual disk instead of using NAS disk directly.
4. Add disk and format / initialize it via camera GUI. Hopefully it will work.
