NVR V5/ IVMS4200 Setup snags

Hi you clever guys. Its been YEARS since I set up an CCTV system... I have a DS-7508NI-M2/8p NVR running NVR 5.0 The DVR runs sweet and Im happy with that. The only downside is that its up in the loft and I want to monitor / control ift from my PC 3 floors down.
I have HIK-Connect6 running fine on my phone and I can see not only "live feeds" from my cameras and I can view recorded images etc in "Remote playback" on IVMS 4200.
BUT In maintenance and management I can see my NVR in the upper pane under "device". Oddly however it shows the NVR as "Offline".
Anyone have any idea how the NVR can be "offline" but I can see live feeds and access recorded data? Hoe do I get the NVR to show "online".

Any ideas gratefully received!!!

That is odd... if you click on the Edit button for the NVR:

I agree, I don't think your main view or remote playback should work if the NVR shows offline in maintenance and management...
 
Hi JohnFitzy. I uninstalled IVMS 4200 and started again. Now the NVR pops up as an online device in the lower pane of "maintenance manager / Device" and I have added it to the upper area ( where it was before.. It still shows as "offline" and now I have no cameras viewable.. The IP and Port addresses are correct...
In the "Edit" tab, Im unsure what I should put in the "Name" and "User name" boxes. Could you advise, can I find this info on the NVR (V5 S/ware) anywhere?? Im stumped!
Nb. The cameras still work on the app on my Android device!?..... :(

Any ideas ?

The default username is "admin"... I doubt you would have changed it so try "admin"... Password would be the one you created when you set up the NVR.
 
Here is where I am right now..... I have got access to my cameras via IVMS4200 and have logged on/ using my HIK-Connect account details to the GROUP, but cannot access the NVR ( The passwords are the same for both. and IANLUNN100 is my Superuser name... and they ALL share the same passwords (for now)..... I STILL cannot get the NVR to go 'Online@ in the upper area of the programme ( See screenshot )..

Any ideas ?

OK, I see a difference... I don't log into Hik-Connect from IVMS-4200 because in my case the computer and the NVR are on the same LAN... I think this is better so there's no extra network traffic back and forth with the Hik-Connect servers...

If the computer you are running IVMS-4200 on and the NVR are on the same LAN, you may want to try setting it up this way... log out of Hik-Connect on IVMS-4200 and then hit the "Online Device" button I have highlighted above... select the NVR from the lower window and hit "Add"... give the NVR a name, enter username and password, and leave "Import to Group" checked...
 
IANLUNN100 is my Superuser name

One more thing... I'm not sure IANLUNN100 is your NVR username (it probably is your Hik-Connect username) ...

It appears to be what you have named the NVR... I think you may still be using the default username "admin".

You can confirm these by logging directly into the NVR Web GUI:

Thank you SO much for your help. I EVENTUALLY got access to my NVR..... SOMEHOW my login was still Admin, but the password wasnt the default one!
Anyway, Im in now and all is well. Thank you once again for your help. Have a great Christmas!!
