I have an older Hikvion 4 channel 2MP DVR installed with 3x 2MP analog cameras, 1x 5MP camera and one 2MP IP camera.
I need to add a camera but as the DVR only as 4 channels and will take only 1 IP camera I have to look at an alternative and in doing so look at increasing quality of recording (which is currently a max of 2MP.
I am considering a Hikvision iDS-7204HUHI-K1/4S which will record (I am told) at 5MP on all 4 channels including the 2 IP channels available.
I am told that if I want to upgrade the cameras I could replace the 4 analog with 4 additional 5 MP IP cameras as funds allow.
Does anyone have any experience of these cameras and if so can you confirm
- 5MP @15fps is available on all 6 channels (analog and IP)
- does the unit have a facility to replace the 4 analog cameras with IP in stages as funds allow
- are there any shortcomings with this unit.
- are there any alternative units at about the same price (£100 - £120) that I should consider
