Playback Stuttering from 1 camera

Hi,
I have a two camera setup,DS-7604NI-K1/ DS-2CD2386G2-IU AcuSense 8MP Darkfighter turret camera IR & Mic.

I have noticed that when I playback one of my cameras it seems to stutter when a person comes in view, for a second or so. Any idea what this could be? Thanks

This is likely a bandwidth issue, the DS-7604NI-K1 NVR only has a 40Mbps incoming bandwidth limit which was fine when the NVR was first released but now the new 8MP AcuSense models are producing more than 20Mbps each, so only 2 of these may have exceeded your NVRs bandwidth limit.

Are you able to share a screenshot/photo of the video settings for one or both of your cameras to see if there are any changes we can recommend that might improve stream stability?

I have now changed the settings to the below pictures, and seems ok . I want to add two more 8mp cameras on the system, will it cope ok?

The 7604 NVR definitely will not be able to manage 4 x 8MP AcuSense cameras without you reducing the resolution, frame rate, and setting them all to H.265+

I'm surprised you are getting stable performance from 2 x 8MP cameras that are on H.265, max. resolution, and max. frame rate. We would definitely recommend reducing the frame rate to 15fps because unless you are dealing with very fast-moving vehicles you are not going to notice a massive difference in performance between 25fps and 15fps, but it will save quite a chunk of bandwidth.

Ok cool, so will drop to 15fps, shall I turn on H265+ and alter the resolution? Any help welcome

Hi @L Bishop

Yes, you would need to reduce all of the above settings to get 4 x 8MP cameras to work, but reducing the resolution would make buy 8MP cameras pointless as you would be reducing the resolution to 6MP or lower.

If you want to record 4 x 8MP AcuSense cameras at full settings you would need to use a DS-7608NI-I2/8P 8-channel NVR which supports more incoming bandwidth.
