i need a ac poe+ switch, yes ac, it has to send ac power down the cat5 cables.

i have some very high end panasonic external ptz network cameras, i can power them the old fashion way by using 24vac psu and getting the image via the cat 5, however these cameras also do poe+ but again they need ac power, i have spent days trying to find a ac poe+ way of powering these cameras but every single poe device i find is sending dc down the cat5!
can someone help me find a ac poe+ switch

thanks

Hi,
It's quite common to over-think this and worry about what you need; please disregard the camera's AC requirement.
POE is plug & play.
The camera is expecting POE to the IEEE802.3at standard to arrive on its network connection.
That POE power, to that standard will be between 35 and 57 volts DC.
The camera expects this and uses it / converts it as it needs.
You do not need AC POE (it doesn't exist).
NB the 'at' suffix denotes POE+ ('af' is standard, lower power to 15.4Watts)
Check how many Watts your PTZ needs; many are happy with 30W injectors, some need 60W.

wow cheers for your reply, ill proceed to buy a high wattage poe switch, the stupid manuals all state these cameras require ac poe, i thought it was a little strange that i couldnt find any ac switches etc, ill update next week when i get my hands on a switch, thank you phil
