Hi,

I am having difficulties adding an IP camera. Its a HK vision camera. PVR is a HK vision model no. DS-7716NI-I4 and has latest firmware. The NVR can locate the camera when its connected to the NVR but on the management screen it is showing the message 'the network is unreachable'. The camera is powering up. I have tried several hardware resets on the camera. Cable is fine.

It's likely that the default IP address of 192.168.1.64 does not match the network settings to which your cameras are connected. Check what network settings your other cameras have, then manually change the IP of the new camera to match. You can change the IP address and activate it with the SADP tool. What I usually do is just:

  1. power the camera up locally
  2. set my laptop in the same range - 192.168.1.xxx,
  3. connect laptop to the camera then with a web browser go to 192.168.1.64
  4. you're forced to activate it with a strong password (use the same admin password as your other cameras)
  5. change the IP address, gateway etc to match your network
  6. fit at desired location and connect to NVR
