Pyronix Home Control 2.0 - adding smart devices such as switches and plugs?

Our alarm installer has registered our alarm via their Pyronix cloud.
We have been using Pro Control Plus, but it's not stable.
We have now switched to Home Control 2.0 which seems much better - remote connection to the alarm seems much better.

The Home Control 2.0 App (iOS) has a facility to connect to smart devices such as switches and plugs.
Now this is where I'm confused. The app requires the user to log into the home control cloud - is this cloud the same as the Pyronix cloud or a separate cloud?

I don't have the Pyronix cloud login details as it's run by our installer / engineer, but our euro 76 alarm is registered with the app and is running ok.

We don't have any experience with Pyronix intruder alarms here at use-IP.
However, as Pyronix is now owned by Hikvision, I have moved this query from the General Discussion forum to the Hikvision forum as it's quite likely that some forum members may have relevant experience and be able to help.

I am reasonably sure the cloud it's talking about is the Pyronix Cloud (https://www.pyronixcloud.com/). You can register an account but the first thing it asks is to "Register New System" where it needs "System ID" and "Cloud Password (as entered in the alarm panel)". So your alarm installer would have those details and may (or may not) allow you to have them to add/configure additional things.

I have not asked our installer for those details as not really needed to, he went and configured a few things on our behalf - e.g. by default the app was only getting alarm push notifications. It was not getting any set/unset notifications. He had to configure the cloud to enable all notifications which users can then enable/disable as they want via phone notification settings.

I only have some limited experience as a user with Pyronix/Home Control 2.0 app to control a couple of site alarms and at one site our installer added lighting contactors which we can control via the "Automate" option in the app.

All of the details you need are accessible from the keypad.

- Press D then your manager code (you do not need the engineer code but it must be the manager code)
- Press NO until you see Set up App and press Yes.
-Press Yes to go through the entries. You just need the System ID and App Password.

Your installer may have added your system to the cloud using their installer account - that’s how I do it as I manage the cloud connections for customers. You can still set up your own Pyronix Cloud account via the HomeControl2.0 app to add Pyronix smart plugs, cameras, doorbells to the app to see them alongside the alarm, that’s no issue.

The only thing you can’t do is remove your alarm from the installers account while there’s an active subscription. They would have to delete it from their account in order for you to reregister it to your own. That would be pointless as you’d lose the subscription and have to pay £40 for 12 months subscription. Once your existing subscription ends, if your installer was unhelpful, Pyronix support will delete it from the installer for you.

My alarm (pyronix Euro 24) is still setup on the installers pyronix cloud account - using ProControl+, when a different installer setup my hikvision CCTV I put in the email address and password which was the same as what I used when the pyronix alarm was setup - this has meant that my alarm and CCTV all seem to be under the same installer login now (like they share the backend database)

I've just received the £40 renewal from the alarm installer and thinking about migrating now to HomeControl 2.0 and either stick with hik-connect or look to move to Hi Look.

Less concerned about the alarm as I can test setting up HomeControl 2.0 (got your video which tells me everything) but worried when the pyronix cloud account gets deleted that I am going to lose the setup for my CCTV or am I getting confused (probably!).

Conscious I jumped on this thread as it was covering some of what I had - FYI I dont have any other pyronix devices, just the alarm.

TIA

If you're on Hik-Connect and it's your email address and password used for registration, you should be ok and the installer should have no access to it. You'll have to let your subscription run out and ask the installer to remove it (your alarm) from their Pyronix Cloud account. If they don't, you can ask Pyronix to do it for you but they won't while a subscription is active. I don't see a benefit to using ProControl+ anymore. All Pyronix newer user manuals and literature refer to using HomeControl2.0.

If I login to hik-connect.com using my email address and password then click My Account it has the username which is the one the alarm installer used. The CCTV installer would never have known this and assuming it registered with just my email address and password but it does look like the accounts merged for some reason.

You can login to Hik-Connect with either the e mail/phone number and password (depending on which was used to register the account) or the username and password. As the installer has the username for the account does he also have the password? If that's the case I'd just unbind the NVR from Hik-Connect, delete the Hik-Connect account and recreate it then add the NVR back to the new account.

I've just tried logging in to hik-connect with the user name (not email) that is on hik-connect (which is the same user as the pyronix account) and used the password that I use when logging in with my email address and it logged in.

Am just trying to think back what happened when we added CCTV - I can't be 100% but it will be either

1. I tried to register a hik-connect account and it said that email address already existed (as it was already registered on the pyronix cloud) so I tried logging in with the password I thought I would have used and it logged in OK.
2. I did setup a new account but behind the scenes pyronix must share the database with hik-connect which is how I ended up with the pyronix user showing on my hik-connect account

If I un-bind and recreate I suspect I will have bullet 2. again in that it will find it and merge the account whilst I have an active cloud subscription. If the subscription was to cancel whilst the cameras are binded to that account I may have a problem there too? One option could be to use a temporary email to move my CCTV over to, delete my hik-connect account, wait until all the pyronix stuff is cleared down then hopefully can create a new hik-connect account which isnt linked.

I'm confused writing this so hopefully it makes some sort of sense to the trained eye!

Hi mate - I am working through the process of getting myself off the pyronix cloud (installer sub) - as mentioned was hoping to move to HC2.0 - can I still maange my alarm remotely (alerts, arm / disarm is all I am interested in)?

In parallel I went to register my alarm on HC2.0, followed your video, added the system ID and app password as show on the alarm panel but when the app tried to create a secure connection to the panel I got the Error "can't connect to PyronixCloud. Please check the user code and app password are correct".

I double checked and the password looks correct - have you come across this before?

Thanks in advance (again) for all your help!

You will be able to yes. You need to register a Pyronix Cloud account with your own e mail (if you haven't already got one). Then you would add the panel to your account. Once that's done, you can configure what alerts are sent to each registered device. For instance you might want all events for yourself but only want a family member to get alarm notifications.

You're probably going about this in the wrong order.

Step 1 - the device has to be deleted from the installer account. They will have to do this, you cannot progress to step 2 until it's done. Pyronix support can do it for you but only once the existing subscription on the installers account has ran out. They will not remove it while there's an active subscription.
Step 2 - you add the panel to your Pyronix user account (create a user account if you don't already have one) using the System ID and Cloud (not app) Password. The Cloud Password can be anything you like and you can set this in the App Setup menu on the panel.
Step 3 - Add the device to your phone app

The video I did is really for my customers. In that case most of them do not have a Pyronix user account as I've already added the panel to the cloud in my installer account and I manage the subscriptions etc on their behalf.

Thanks! If I understand correctly an end user cloud account is £25 p.a.?
