Remove audio from existing recording Hikvision?

Hi,

Is there anyway to remove the audio from existing recordings. The company I work for had some internal misunderstandings, the installed CCTV was supposed to be without audio recording, even though I was told otherwise. Now I need to find a way that if someone downloads footage from a DVR, there shouldn't be any audio. I have already disabled the audio so that the new footage won't have any but the old footage remains with audio.

I don't believe there is any way to remove the audio from old recordings within the NVR settings.

If you need to remove audio from any old recordings I think the only way to do it would be to download it and then run it through a converter software (like the tool built-in to the Hikvision Windows VSPlayer) and convert it to a video file without audio.

Once the settings have been altered so that audio is not recorded, it would be easiest to simply initialise the hard disk in the DVR and start afresh.
