I’ve got a DS-2CD2T87G2-L 8mp/4k colorvu fixed bullet camera that does not send alerts/notifications at night. I started a thread on this about a year ago, and while there were lots of suggestions none resolved this problem, and several other people reported the same.
What I think I need to do now is try a Darkfighter camera to see if this works as it is only the colorvu camera that gives this problem (mostly but not always due to headlight dazzle I think - camera usually alerts cars going away but never coming towards).
The question is, which one? The existing colorvu will readily picture number plates when HLC is on. However, I’ve read that the standard darkfighter won’t do this unless it is an ANPR model. I don’t need full ANPR functionality, just the ability to zoom in and read a plate if I want to.
Can anyone suggest what I might try?
