Folks, I have a single run of RG6u 170m from an HIK, 4MP bullet can to an HIK, 4k ready NVR ...feeding a gaming monitor. (forgot the specs) I have gone thru hell. I have had total loss issues where I simply put on new RJ45 connectors, dried out the fittings (which corroded in a heartbeat), used a hydrophobic, etc. The last major even had me putting all new ends on. There was one break in the line and I used what appears to be a lot more secure fitment than the HIKs.
I was going nuts — 'till I walked the line to find a mouse had chewed the cable about 10m from the middle joint. I now have six RJ45 connectors between cam and NVR. Is this why my picture is severely pixelated and very slow to refresh? Are there fittings and 'fittings'. I have about three brands.
You guy seem pretty smart — I'm just smart enough to do try anything.
And, if it may... Can I add a male connector to another HIK camera I buggered the female end in an attempt to clean out corrosion? Can I not seem to find a female end?
Jim
