SADP tool password recovery

I would like to use SADP to reset admin password.
I select "Security Question Mode" but then I can't put the mouse on the text fields to edit and to answer the questions.

Did anyone come across this issue? Using the latest SADB tool on Windows 11 desktop.

You can't 'edit' the questions. It will be what was used when the device was first activated. When you first activate a device, you can choose one or more methods for password recovery:

- Register a recovery e mail address
- Choose and answer three security questions
- Export the GUID file
- Hik-Connect registration

....but you don't have to, and can skip all suggestions. That's down to the installer, I rarely use the security questions. It sounds as though security questions weren't used when activating the device and so the questions are greyed out/unselectable. You can't provide an answer when there isn't a question...

I resolved it using the email-recovery procedure. After successfully login in I noticed that I did not set the security question option at all to my surprise. That is why it did not offer me to enter text in the first place. Case solved!
