Silica gel little balls in camera

I’ve just opened up my new camera and there are these little bags of balls.
I understand they are to help with condensation?

Mine says Exp 2019

Is it out of date? Does it make any difference?

Yes its to help with condensation that might form from air that might have got trapped in the camera during manufacturing and installation. So long as they haven't saturated, which they shouldn't do, it'll be fine.

If you start to notice the lens misting up then you may need to replace the silica gel with a new packet. Wait to see if the existing stuff clears it up first though, it sometimes takes a little while.
