Hello everyone
Could anyone help me with this issue.

I initially payed someone to come round to my house who installed a complete Hikvision kit comprising of three Hikvision colorvu 8mp cameras and a Dvr with model number ids 7204HUHI-k1-4S.

All cameras had perfect images that was until after 2 years in two cameras had water ingress and the images weren’t the best.
Because the dvr had 4 ports I decided to purchase 3 new cameras to replace the two with water and add a fourth camera to the dvr.

Upon viewing my cameras after fitting them the images on three of the cameras are bad and the one that was always good is still perfect.

I unplugged the good camera and individually plugged in the other cameras only one in and then out on the dvr to see what the image was like and none of the cameras came on.
The cameras wil only come on if the good camera is connected.

I’m beginning to think it had something to do with the resolution, the good camera is the first picture and the second image is of the other three cameras, the resolution has changed to lite I can’t alter it to the same as picture one.

Does anyone have any ideas please.

Would I need to rest the dvr to factory settings and how easy is it to set up without getting hold of the person who initially installed them.

Hi @Kejn

Can you please confirm the model numbers of the 4 cameras you are connecting to your DVR?

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
The cameras were the same as the ones that I took down with no problems at all….these are the cameras below.
The strange thing is that I never had the problem before and the cameras are identical,it’s just that the resolution has changed and it should be 3840 as the other cameras.
I just don’t understand why the option in the drop down for the resolution isn’t available for 3840.

Hi @Kejn

It's very strange. Are you absolutely sure that the 3 problem cameras have exactly the same model numbers as the camera that is working?

The Hikvision analog model numbers are quite confusing so it is easy for one or two digits to be different in the model number and you not notice.

I ask because the specs for the DS-2CE72UF3T-E do not mention anywhere an option for 8MP Lite resolution so I can't understand why that would be the only resolution option.

Hi Dan
Is there any way I can download the latest firmware for my dvr?
Is there a link anywhere?

Hi Dan
Thanks for all your help.
Have managed to download and install the latest firmware for my DVR as I was told as it could solve the issue..which unfortunately hasn’t.
Now everyone I’ve spoken too are scratching their heads as why my dvr is doing this.
The Dvr worked fine when I was running three cameras..all on a resolution of 8mp….its only ever since a fourth camera was connected that still only one camera has a resolution of 8mp and the other cameras still doesn’t give you the option of applying 8mp just a lite resolution.
It’s as if the dvr only now supports one camera on 8mp and the others are on a lower resolution and no matter what I do the configuration stays like that….not even an option to disable lite mode.
I would a complete factory reset but I can’t contact the installer and don’t have the password login details just the drawing code to access the screen.
Thanks
