Hi all,

I've had my Hikvision system up and running for a while now however recently I've had a few strange issues.
First is a strange banding on the screen I've attached a few pictures. It seems to happen on 2 of the cameras and they move around.

Second is one of my cameras randomly keeps dropping off, restarting hasn't helped, I've played around unplugging etc and then it will appear for a while before going again. Any ideas what might be causing?

Any help greatly appreciated

Between the picture quality problem and the dropping off, I'd suspect a power problem or connector (outside) problem. Can you pull one down and set it up inside with a new cable to compare? Have you looked at the power consumption on the direct interface (monitor) to see if the problem cameras show a power problem compared to the others?

Is this an analogue system?
Uses co-ax cables?

If so, they are hum bars.
A ground loop isolator will solve the problem:

(Even) More technical explanation here:

Thanks for hr replies.

It's a HD system run through Ethernet cables with video and power baluns at each end.

Not checked on the direct interface, I'll have a play tomorrow and see what I can find. Is there anyway of being able to access the full interface remotely rather than directly?

Thanks again

Thanks for the replies.
I have the DVR-208U-K1 running V3.5.36 build 180329

I can't however (my bad ) find the power consumption information, where does this live in the software?

bump any help on the power consumption info would be greatly received.

I'm not sure that it's applicable, as you have a DVR, not an NVR.
DVRs are for analogue / co-ax cameras.
NVRs are for network cameras.
NVRs provide power over the network cable using POE, hence they can show the power that the cameras are drawing.

Thanks for the reply

In which case I'm back to point 0 in understanding what could be the problem here. Any new ideas?

Installation/cabling; bring the camera(s) close to the DVR on temporary short cables to prove this.
