Unable to access NVR on Local LAN via any WEB browser

Hi All,

New to this site (and networking) so please bare with me. Last chance saloon - I hope!

Over the Christmas period, I endeavored to explore 'learning' how to use, test and manage my new DS7616NI - K2/16P NVR with the help of associated SADP and IVMS tools. NB - This is my first ever security camera system. As I have no previous networking/IT experience, I had to learn from scratch, so lots of trial and error which has led me to your good selves.

In short, I can no longer access my NVR locally via its static IP address 192.168.0.99, and router 192.168.0.1. under subnet 255.255.255.0

Current system access is as follows..

1) I know my admin password as I can directly access the NVR UI with both password and swipe pattern.

2) I can also access and modify IP address settings in SADP as I receive the pop up notification advising 'parameters modification completed' whenever a change is made.

3) In IVMS, I can view the NVR device under 'Online Device', however, I cannot add this device to client, as I receive 'error 55-incorrect ip address'.

4) A week or so ago, I could access my NVR locally (over wifi from laptop) via its IP address in IE, BUT I can no longer do so. I can load up the login page of nvr ip address, however, I receive 'incorrect username or password' error when I use my NVR admin password to log in.

I have changed my NVR admin password numerous times now, expecting that this change should work when I go to log in via web page but it seems that the NVR has its own password when accessed online at ip. Can someone confirm if this is the case i.e. that you can have 1 pw for NVR GUI and a completely different 1 for web page log in???? If this is the case how do I reset web page login?

I have been onto Hikvision direct, who provided me with a new Key that I imported into SADP. This of course changed my admin password on SADP and NVR UI, but I still cannot log into NVR via web.

Can anyone advise if I am doing something wrong? I am at my wit's end second guessing passwords, repeatedly locking myself out of IVMS and web portal in the hope that I might hit a password that works.

I am assuming that when I had access to NVR via web, me the curious type, made a change to some settings not realising the potential impact it could have. I assumed the nvr password when logging in via IP address was ultimately administered by NVR UI and SADP also.

Hoping someone can offer some advise on this as its incredibly frustrating.

Any assistance at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading.

Best Regards

It will be the same password that you use on a direct/monitor connection as when you access via Internet Explorer.

Maybe test that your PC/laptop keyboard is providing the characters you expect when you enter the password.

Thanks for the quick response Phil - much obliged.

The password I use for NVR interface and SADP is identical to the one I use on Internet Explorer. Internet explorer does not accept it. See screen snip below.

I am at a completely loss as to whats going on.

I did as you say just now and revealed the password to ensure I was typing correctly but the issue persists.

Is there a remote possibility that I could have made a change in NVR when I had access to it last week to cause this issue.

If you know the password for logging-in via the monitor, then it is the same for the browser access.
Are you entering the user name as the default e.g. admin (all lower case)?

I sure am Phil.. I am entering all characters in the correct upper/lower case and spelling, along with pulling my hair out :)

I found a solution to my ivms 'error code 55' issue below from Hikvision Support site under FAQ's header for 'Client Software and tools', however, for me to resolve it I need to access NVR via web. Apperantly the reason I cant add nvr to ivms is because ip address of admin user accessing web portal is not bound to NVR ip. Does that make sense to you at all Phil as its double dutch to me.. See below.

I cannot remember if I changed anything in the below section on web interface when I had access last week.

Might you or any reader be able to confirm that the below screenshot is indeed a screen shot from web portal "Remote Configuration" screen or is it accessible from somewhere else possibly?? It looks like IVMS to me but I cant replicate anywhere in IVMS personally..

Cheers for all the advice Phil - It is appreciated more than you know!!

Hmm, it's an odd one - I think I'd be tempted to use the direct-connected monitor to reset the NVR to default and start afresh.

Just to eliminate the possibility of a network issue, would you post a capture of the highlighted commands? Supplement your NVR IP over mine. Also, the network settings of the NVR, which you would have to source directly on the NVR (second image). It may help.

Just a quickie to let you know that the OP emailed me this afternoon:

Hmm, it's an odd one - I think I'd be tempted to use the direct-connected monitor to reset the NVR to default and start afresh.

Thanks for the guidance Phil.
Earlier in the week, I did just that. I restored the NVR twice, 1st time to ‘Restore Defaults’, 2nd time to ‘Factory Defaults’ with no success. Same issues persisted.
This afternoon, after much hesitation I pulled the trigger on the only option left open to me i.e. ‘Restore to Inactive’ and hey presto, it did the trick thankfully – Relieved finally!!!
Hoping this thread can help someone else down the line.
Thanks a mill for your time last night – It is greatly appreciated.
Have a great weekend.
Best Regards,

I assume restore to inactive does a complete reset of the unit include the admin password. Which option is this? Is it restore default settings or restore All? what is the difference?

Restore All is a factory reset.
Restore Default Settings will keep your IP address and password, but reset all the camera's other configurable settings back to default.

hey

I'm no specialist with Hikvision so probs all wrong but over the past 2 years have been managing my own set of 7 Hikv. IP cams on a 8 channel Hikv. NVR and just recently I had the same problem - not being able to access the NVR via Web using IP address whilst on my LAN.

I traced it down to the ports that I had originally opened via my EE router for my NVR that had closed themselves again ?!! I opened them again and assigned them to my NVR on the router and bingo I was in using my IP address.

Hope this helps.

Had the same issue when I changed Port Forwarding on my router and NVR; could not access NVR by IP address. Reverted Ports back to their default and was immediately able to connect. Not sure which setting it was/is, though.
