Hi

I have 2 DS-2CD2146G1-I connected to DS-7608NXI-I2/8P/4S.

I am lost about the way to setup parameter between the NVR and the IPCAM, especially for VCA.

It seems there are several limitation on the NVR compared to the IPCAM.

Also the NVR refuses the access to VCA submenu due to the fact there no VCA device connected. But the IPCAM has VCA feature.

Any idea?
Regards
Michel

Setup the parameters for line crossing, intrusion detection and everything in the NVR. Although you are using the NVR interface to make the settings they are actually applied on the camera. Some settings may not be available on the NVR interface so set those items (and only those) directly using the camera GUI afterwards. The reason for this is that if you set something directly on the camera that could be set on the NVR you may end up with the NVR GUI showing one setting when the camera is actually set differently. Rebooting the NVR will read the settings from the connected cameras and match things up again but for ease of use program via the NVR where the option is available.

Ignore the "no VCA device connected" message. The NVR considers VCA enabled devices to be People Counting, Face Recognition, License Plate Recognition as found on the 7 series and specialist cameras. Line Crossing, Intrusion Detection etc on the 2 series camera was termed "VCA" in the IP cameras previously so it's just a change/mismatch of terminology rather than something not working.
